Multnomah County Opens New Holgate Library

A beautiful way to start the morning, I joined neighbors from Holgate and across Southeast Portland for the grand opening of the Holgate Library, situated right in the heart of District 3. As part of the capital bond that passed in 2020, the Holgate Library is the first new, permanent library opened by Multnomah County Library in over a decade.

As a candidate or Portland City Council, it was an incredible experience to be present as this future cornerstone of our community opened to the public. The building was designed with intentionality and extensive local input; it is the most energy efficient library ever built in Multnomah County and features dedicated youth spaces and community rooms.
