Dock Launch at Cathedral Park with HAP
A triumph for the community, a new swimming dock has been opened to the public during the Cathedral Park River Fest. Hosting the event was the Human Access Project, a volunteer-led advocacy group that is known for the Big Float and works to get people into the Willamette River.
After volunteers removed over 150 tons of concrete debris of the last year and the aging wood dock was replaced with one that floats on pontoons that allows for water circulation, the park is now primed for waterside recreation. The ribbon was cut, the music played, and we all enjoyed one of the first true tastes of summer together.
