Roseway Hosts District 3 Candidate Forum

With the election just about 10 months away, I was pleased to see the Roseway Neighborhood Association invite all declared candidates for Portland City Council in District 3 to speak to the community directly about their candidacy and the issues that Portlanders care about. There was a strong turnout among the community, many showing up early for the meet and greet session with the candidates.

In all, 8 of the candidates were present to participate in the moderated discussion. I found it insightful to hear from the other candidates about their views on our most pressing concerns, from housing instability and public safety to small business support and neighborhood engagement. Getting a better understanding of the other candidates perspectives is an important step in preparing for the next city council, which will draw 3 of its new members from our district and will require intentional collaboration for good policy work.
